Parkash Purab of Guru Hargobind celebrated

JAMMU: The Parkash Purab of sixth Guru of Sikhs Guru Hargobind was celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm.
The main function was organised at Gurdwara Digiana Ashram Jammu under the supervision of Mahant Manjit Singh of Shiromani Dera Nangali Sahib Poonch wherein large number of Sikh Sangat, Ragis and religious preachers threw light on the life and history of Guru Ji. The leaders of various Sikh organisations J and K including Shiromani Akali Dal, Sikh United Front, Bhai Kanaya Nishkam Sewa Society, AISSF, Sikh Naujawan Sabha, Sikh Welfare Society and Members DGPC Jammu participated.
The resolution was also read before the Sikh Sangat and passed to implement Punjabi Language in the schools and provide Punjabi teachers and appointment of Sikh Judge in the J and K High Court, Rs 30 lakh as compensation to each PoK 1947 refugee family and reservation in government jobs.
The Sikh Sangat strongly demanded Minority Commission in J and K State on the pattern of other states of India. The Sikh Sangat criticised the District Gurdwara Prabandhak Committees for not honouring the directions of Akal Takhat Sahib and SGPC Amritsar and demanded action to punish for violation of rules and regulations of highest religious institutions issuing Nanak Shahi Calendar for celebrations of birth anniversaries and other Sikh religious festivals.
The Sikh Sangat also expressed grief and sorrow for untimely death of the senior PDP leader Rangil Singh and prayed for peace to the departed soul.
Among those who participated in the Parkash Purab include Sudershan Singh Wazir, Dayal Singh Wazir, Mohinder Singh, Paramjeet Singh, Surinder Singh Kala, Darbinder Singh, Ramnik Singh, Fateh Singh, Raja Singh, Rajinder Singh, Gajjan Singh and Harpal Singh.
