Parkash inaugurates exhibition-cum-sale at Kashmir Haat

SRINAGAR: Minister for Industries and Commerce Chander Parkash Ganga today inaugurated exhibition cum sale at Kashmir Haat. The show is being organised by the Department of Handicrafts and different stalls were displayed having various craft items. Athwas Kashmir a Non-Governmental Organisation also participated in the demonstration and presented various cultural items on the occasion.

The minister went round the premises of the Kashmir Haat and inspected various stalls installed by the District Handicrafts Centers of Doda, Kishtwar, Udhampur, Kathua, Samba, Srinagar and Ganderbal.

Interacting with the members of the management, the minister said that the aim of organizing of such trade fairs is to provide quality, nominal price and unique items to the customers. He said holding of such exhibitions will help promote the art of artisans of the State besides assist to increase their income and also give chance to promote their skills.

Director Handicrafts Kashmir, other officers of handicrafts departments and a large number of people witness the show.

Earlier, the minister chaired a High Level Monitoring Committee meeting convened to discuss and review various points with regard to the problems faced by the industrialists of the State.

Financial Commissioner, I&C, Kusheed Ahmed Ganai, Commissioner Secretary Finance, N.K Choudhary, Chairman Pollution Control Board, Abdul Razzaq, Excise Commissioner, T. Angchok, Commissioner Commercial Taxes, Zaffar Ahmed, Labour Commissioner, Vupra Bhal, HODs of Handicrafts, Industries and Commerce, SIDCO, SICOP, Geology and Mining departments, President Chamber of Commerce Jammu, Rakesh Gupta, President Bari-Brahmina, Post Chairman CII J and K, Sanjay, Chairman FOI Jammu, Rajesh Jain, President Association of Industries, Vijay Aggarwal, Former Chairman FOI, Jammu, Vice Chairman Confederation of Indian Industry, Sheikh Imran, President FCI, Kashmir, Mohammad Ashraf Mir and other officers and representatives of Industrialists were present in the meeting.

Addressing the meeting, the minister asked the concerned officers and industrialists to come up with their suggestions with regard to the problems faced by them in running industrial units so that the same could be examined and after scrutiny valuable suggestions be incorporated in draft industrial policy. He said ease of doing business initiative was launched in the State but need is to implement it on ground. He said this is the template and asked the concerned officers and industrialists to work with dedication and work on 98 points on ease of doing business as received form DIPP Government of India. He also asked them to work on ATR of the 316 assessment framework items as circulated among the concerned departments as issued by the DIPP Ministry of Industries and Commerce.

The minister directed the SIDCO authorities to ensure setup the big portal of Government of India in the organization.

Parkash assured the industrials that the points raised by them will be given due consideration.
