‘Parents should restrain wards against drugs, traffic offences’

JAMMU: To strengthen police-public relations and to infuse confidence among the people towards ‘Khakhi’, a police-public meet was organised here at Janipur Police Station on Sunday.
The meet was chaired by SP City Shiv Dev Singh Chouhan while SHO Janipur Police Station Inspector Ajit Singh was also present.
The police-public meet witnessed healthy discussion between residents and police personnel regarding various vital issues including drug menace, accidents, crime, etc.
Addressing the meeting, the SP City Shiv Dev emphasised on keeping a vigil against drug traffickers who usually trap gullible college and high school students into this menace.
Talking about frequent road accidents in the vicinity of city and on state highways, the SP said that main reason behind these mishaps is non-adherence of traffic rules. He stressed on spreading awareness about significance of traffic rules. He specially called upon parents to restrain their wards from indulging into traffic violations and other unwarranted activities.
The SP also listened to the grievances of the participants and assured that genuine demands will be communicated to the senior officers for an early redressal.
Prominent among those who participated in the meet include Ranjit Singh Manhas, Uttam Chand Sharma, Uttam Singh, Gurnam Singh, Randhir Sathia, Ashok Manhas and others.
