JAMMU: Parade Sports Association XI defeated its rival and entered into the final of the ongoing Third New Year Masters T20 Cricket Cup, organized by Jammu and Kashmir Transport Department at Parade Ground, here on Friday. In today’s semifinal, Parade Sports XI defeated Cantt Cricket XI by 11-runs.
Batting first, Parade Sports XI scored 131 runs in 18 overs for the loss of six wickets. Anshuman (33), Ranjit Bali (32) and Sanjay Sharma (27) runs were the main scorers. Madan and Rajkumar picked two wickets each while Narinder took one for Cantt Cricket XI.
In reply, Cantt Cricket XI could not achieve the target and made 120 runs in 18 overs for the loss of nine wickets and thus lost the match by 11 runs. Vinay played a knock of 43 runs while Narinder added 11 to the total. For Parade Sports XI, Vicky claimed three wickets while Pardeep Bali and Sanjay Sharma shred two each. Anshuman was adjudged Man of the Match. In another match, Doordarshan XI defeated Media XI by 33 runs.
Batting first, Doordarshan XI, with the fine batting display of Vicky, who smashed 84 runs, set a target of 163 runs in 20 overs for the loss of five wickets. Rajesh added 19 runs to the total. Sachin grabbed four wickets while Rahul took one for Media XI.
In reply, Media XI failed to chase the target and made 129 runs in 20 overs for the loss of seven wickets. Vivek Suri made 40 runs, Pardeep Bali contributed 31 and Sunil Bali added 29 runs to the total. Suresh clinched two wickets while Shekhar, Vicky and Rajesh shared apiece for Doordarshan XI. Vicky was adjudged Man of the Match. Today’s matches were officiated by Sanjay, Sandeep and Vinod.
Tomorrow’s Fixture: Senior Police XI to meet Doordarshan XI at 1:00 PM.
