Panun Kashmir boycotts meeting with all-party delegation

Jammu: Panun Kashmir, an organisation representing Kashmiri Pandits, today boycotted a meeting with the all-party delegation here, saying it was an eye wash and hit out at the MPs for “begging before separatists to meet”.

Panun Kashmir Convener Agnishakher told reporters 12 representatives of various Kashmiri Pandit organisations were invited for the meeting with the all-party delegation visiting Jammu and the time allotted to them was for eight minutes from 2.55 PM to 3.03 PM.

“How can 12 representatives representing different political parties and points of view be able to communicate anything coherent to the all-party delegation in this duration,” Agnishakher said.

“We are boycotting the meeting with all-party delegation here today as it is merely an eye wash to show (that) nationalists (are) being taken onboard while they are begging before separatists in Kashmir for at least opening their doors to the delegation members,” he said.

“It is amply clear to us and the entire nationalist constituency in Jammu that Indian government along with the state government is only making a pretension of meeting the nationalists in the state. We have decided not to meet the all-party delegation visiting Jammu today,” he said.

Terming it as a “cruel joke”, Panun Kashmir Chairman Ajay Chrungoo said, “They are going to doors of separatists like Syed Ali Shah Geelani who do not want a system of democracy and secularism but Shariat rule.”

He claimed that the decision to send the delegation to Jammu was taken belatedly and was not part of the original plan.

“We have come to know that the delegation is spending just a few hours in meeting various sections in Jammu which implies that the views of those living in the region are not important enough for the central and state governments to be communicated to the delegation,” he said.

“To us it is clear the central government wants only the separatists and semi-separatist views to dominate the political discourse on Jammu and Kashmir,” Agnishaker said.

“It means the Indian government has a policy design to delegitimise the nationalist opinion in Jammu and Kashmir.

More precisely it means the government wants to suppress the opinion of Hindus, Sikhs and Bhudhists living in the state who have been facing a relentless genocidal assault,” he alleged.

“We can no longer close our eyes to the stark reality that the fundamentalist fascist religious separatism in Jammu and Kashmir is not only supported by Pakistan but receives support from within India,” Chrungoo alleged.

He claimed that the policies of central government treat nationalists in the state as liabilities and said the Hindus of Kashmir would work relentlessly to destroy internal subversion.

“Hindus of Kashmir will continue their struggle to achieve the Union Territory of Panun Kashmir north east of river Jhelum,” he said.
