JKNPP celebrates opening of degree college in Majalta
STATE TIMES NEWS
RAMNAGAR: Complimenting the people of Tehsil Majalta over the fulfillment of their demand for establishment of Degree College, Harsh Dev Singh, Chairman JKNPP and former Minister, called upon the State Government to ensure immediate commencement of admission process so that the present academic session is not wasted. Leading a rally in Tehsil Majalta which passed through several markets and villages and culminated at Bharnara, Harsh besides several other leaders of the party including party Sarpanchs, who had filed the writ petition before the Court, addressed the gathering. Harsh lambasted the opportunist leaders who were desperately trying to take credit for the opening of the Degree College Majalta notwithstanding the fact that their own government had filed appeal against the orders of the High Court directing opening of a Degree College on a petition filed by ten Sarpanchs of Panthers Party of Tehsil Majalta.
He said that the SLP was filed by the BJP-PDP Govt. in the Supreme Court on 7th January, 2016 against the directions of J and K High Court. He said that the SLP was disposed off by the Supreme Court with a direction to the State Govt. to issue the order for establishment of Degree College Majalta before 15th July, 2016 and to file the compliance report with the Registry of Supreme Court.
He said that the Chief Secretary was also summoned by the Supreme Court on 18th July with a report stating that the Degree College had been made functional. He said that the political party which opposed the opening of the said Degree College in the courts was now indulging in drum beating in a vain bid to claim credit.
Taking a gibe at the BJP Leaders, he said that they stood fully exposed for their political gimmickry and politics of deceit as the entire public had come to know of the Govt.’s SLP filed in the Supreme Court against the orders of High Court. Displaying the copies of the Supreme Court and High Court orders for Majalta College in the rally, Harsh said that it was the big victory of Panthers Party which had fought relentlessly in the courts for five years to get the demand of the said Degree College conceded. He congratulated all the ten petitioner Sarpanchs who were present in the rally for reposing faith in him and for persistently supporting the cause of Degree College.
The Sarpanch petitioners included Karnail Singh Sarpanch, Rajesh Kumar Sarpanch, Dharam Singh Sarpanch, Balwant Raj Sarpanch, Dina Nath Sarpanch, Makhan Lal Sarpanch, Raj Kumar Sarpanch, Mohd Saleem Sarpanch, Balwan Singh Sarpanch. The writ petition was drafted by Harsh Dev Singh and argued by Advocates Abhinav Sharma, B.R Manhas and Anuradha Sharma.
Balwant Singh Mankotia and Yash Paul Kundal State President Young Panthers, while speaking on the occasion, said that Panthers Party shall continue to fight for the cause of the people from streets to Supreme Court. They said that the Panthers Party had emerged as the lone voice of Jammu region and the only hope after the virtual collapse of BJP which had become totally irrelevant and defunct in the present political scenario.
Manju Singh, Senior NPP Leader congratulated the people of Majalta on the occasion and further assured that the party would continue its efforts for ensuring justice to all sections of society.
