JAMMU: Infuriated by the reign of terror unleashed by BJP goons at the behest of local MLA and other Saffron leaders in Ramnagar, Harsh Dev Singh Chairman JKNPP and Former Minister flanked by Bishan Dass and Sandeep Singh who were brutally assaulted recently sought immediate arrest of the culprits including the conspirators and stringent action against them under law in a press conference at party headquarters in Jammu on Monday.
While addressing media, Harsh Dev Singh denounced the fatal attack on innocent youth by BJP goons and regretted that atrocities on SC community in particular had assumed alarming proportions in Ramnagar during the BJP rule. He disclosed that there were at least 7 murders / unexplained deaths of Dalits in Ramnagar during the last 18 months but unfortunately the culprits had been moving scot free despite specific complaints due to political patronage enjoyed by them. He said that corruption and criminalization of politics by the BJP goons had become rampant in Ramnagar amid the atmosphere of terror adding to the woes of people. He revealed that recently the BJP goons had assaulted two youth of Ramnagar namely Bishan Dass in a temple and Sandeep Singh inside the Police Station in full view of the police constables and others. He sought immediate arrest of the culprits including the conspirators under law so that the people were liberated from ‘Goonda Raj’ and the atrocities being perpetrated upon them. He further alleged large scale harassment of government employees by the BJP MLA of Ramnagar and his goons who were intimidating and threatening several employees to join BJP or be prepared to face dire consequences.
Bishan Dass while speaking to the media said that atrocities on SCs had soared in Ramnagar. He divulged that on 2nd October morning he had gone to Shitla Mata Mandir in Bolot Rashi Thakrai where he was assaulted by seven persons with stones, blows and lathis without any reason. He said that three of the attackers threatened to eliminate him saying that they were sons of BJP Tehsil President Basantgarh namely Shivcharan and nobody dare touch them. He said that the attackers boasted that they had the full support of MLA Ramnagar R.S. Pathania and no police or court dare to touch them even if they murder two or three people. He said that he had identified the culprits who included Arvind, a teacher; Yash Paul a Patwari and Kuldip a CRP constable, all sons of Shivcharan.
Sandeep Singh said that he was first abused by BJP workers last week and then got arrested at the behest of MLA Ramnagar on frivolous charges of abusing one Rahul, son of Varinder Singh alias Jamani Singh of Ramnagar who was a BJP worker of the town. He said that his complaints regarding filthiest abuses hurled upon him by Rahul were not entertained by the Police due to BJP pressure.
Sandeep Singh said that he was summoned to the Police Station on political considerations where Rahul without any fear of police assaulted him inside the Police Station in full view of constables and others but the police remained a mute spectator because of the BJP MLA’s directions.
Harsh said that Panthers Party would launch a full throttle agitation in Ramnagar if the culprits including the conspirators were not brought to book.
