Panthers protest irregular supply of water

JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party activists accompanied by locals held a protest against irregular water supply in Jammu and other nearby areas here at office of PHE Department B.C Road on Saturday.
The protest was held under the leadership of Zonal President JKNPP Neeraj Gupta.
Addressing media persons, Neeraj said that every year in summers the Jammuites have to face the acute scarcity of water and there are colonies in which the scanty supply of water is provided only once in a week. He rued that the water which is supplied is contaminated and detrimental to health, and despite the problem, the government is not at all concerned to rectify the problem especially the flawed infrastructure.
“Nobody is there to take care of the people of Jammu. The project of making a canal to connect Chenab river with Tawi is also deferred by the present dispensation like other projects of the Jammu region awaiting completion. The world is moving towards the better living standards but in Jammu region the people are struggling to fulfill their basic needs. This is the fate of Jammu written by the present Government in the name of development but we will not surrender and will fight for the cause of Jammu”, he maintained. Rakesh Gupta State Secretary, Surjeet Singh President Ward No. 37 Sanjeev Basotra President Ward No.32, Baldev Singh, Basuki, Himanshu Gupta, Ajay Gupta and Bunty were also present.
