JAMMU: Despite the numerous requests made by Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (JKNPP) for providing security cover to its candidates in J and K, several party candidates have not yet provided with the desired security cover.
A party spokesman said that JKNPP candidates in Rajouri and Poonch have not been provided security cover and other facilities provided to the candidates of other parties.
“Those candidates of Poonch and Rajouri, who have been denied the requisite security cover include Tariq Khan (Mendhar), Ashfaq Rana (Surankot), Ch. Haji Mohammad Rashid (Poonch Haveli), Ex-serviceman Yashpal Sarpanch (Nowshera), Ghulam Mustfa Wani (Rajouri) and Rakeez Manhas (Darhal)”, informed party spokesman.
“Similarly, the candidates contesting from Kupwara District who have not been provided any security cover though they have filed nomination papers include Jhangir Khan candidate from Karnah, Wali Mohammad Khan from Kupwara, Ghulam Mohammad Malik from Lolab and Javed Ahmed Khan from Langate”, he added.
“JKNPP observers in different districts who were awaiting much needed security cover include Iqbal Choudhary, State Vice-President, and Chairman of election campaign committee of Doda, Suraj Parihar, District President Ramban and Chairman of election campaign committee of Ramban District, Jagdev Singh Mian, Working President Kathua District and Chairman of election campaign committees of Bani and Basholi, and Rajinder Manju, State Secretary and Chairman of election campaign committee of Kathua Constituency, Jiya Lal Verma, Provincial General Secretary and Chairman election campaign committees of Hiranagar and Billawar, Ashok Kumar Chairman of election campaign committees of Chhamb and Akhnoor, Shiv Charan Singh, District President and Chairman election campaign committee of District Samba and Sudesh Sharma District President Udhampur and Chairman election campaign committee Udhampur” he further informed.
