KATHUA: A first ever meeting of J and K Panchayati Raj and Rural Area Welfare Society was held at Kathua on Sunday under the chairmanship of State President D.P Khajuria. After deliberation and introduction all the members present in the meeting unanimously passed a resolution and a district committee was constituted for District Kathua. Kapoor Singh Jamwal was elceted as District President, Yash Paul Sharma- Vice-President, Parkash Cha-nd -Cashier, Joginder Singh – Secretary whereas, Tirloki Na-th, Parlad Singh, Asha Rani, Bishamber Dass, Puran Cha-nd Gupta and Tilak Raj nominated as members of Execu-tive Committee.D.P Khajuria, M.I Sadiq, Jai Raj and O.P Gupta all from State Committee congratulated the district committee and stressed upon the newly elected district committee to make all out efforts to create awareness among the rural masses and educate them for electing person of repute in the Panchyats as and when election are held. Newly elected president of district Kathua presented vote of thanks and assured the members of State body that they would work for the uplift of society with full strength and dedication.
