Dear Editor,
The decision to make the PAN card mandatory for all transactions, including the purchase of jewellery above Rs 2 lakh and cash payment of hotel or foreign travel bills exceeding Rs 50,000 is a welcome step. This will help check black money inflow and pave the way for a corruption-free society. False declaration can land a person in jail besides a hefty fine. The only thing needed is proper implementation and strict compliance.
