Pak national among 2 JeM terrorists killed in Baramulla, Al-Badr module busted in Pulwama

Srinagar: Two terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in Baramulla district on Thursday, police said.
Security forces launched a cordon-and-search operation in Wanigam Payeen in the Kreeri area of Baramulla district in north Kashmir Thursday morning following information about the presence of terrorists there, a police official said.
He said the search operation turned into an encounter after the terrorists fired upon the forces, drawing retaliation.
In the exchange of fire, two terrorists were killed, the official said.
According to a police spokesperson, a joint cordon and search operation was launched by Baramulla Police, 29RR and 176Bn CRPF in Wanigam Payeen area of Baramulla, after receiving a specific input.
During the search operation, as the presence of terrorists got ascertained who were hiding in the residential house of Mehraj-ud-din Wani, they were given opportunity to surrender. However, they fired indiscriminately upon the joint search party, which was retaliated leading to an encounter.
In the ensuing encounter, two terrorists were killed and their bodies were retrieved from the site of encounter. One of the killed terrorist has been identified as Abrar alias Langoo, who as per reliable sources is a Pakistani national and the other local killed terrorist has been identified as Amir Siraj resident of Sopore affiliated with proscribed terror outfit JeM, the spokesperson added.
As per police records, both the killed terrorists were involved in several terror crime cases including attacks on security forces and civilian atrocities.
Incriminating materials including arms and ammunition were recovered from the site of encounter. All the recovered materials have been taken into case records for further investigation and to probe their complicity in other terror crimes.
Meanwhile, security forces have busted a terror module of the Al-Badr outfit by arresting four militant associates in Pulwama district, police said.
During the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday, security personnel launched a cordon and search operation in Dadsara and Larmoh villages of Awantipora in the south Kashmir district after receiving specific information about the presence of militants there, a police spokesperson said.
He said four militant associates of the Al-Badr outfit were arrested during the operation.
The official identified them as Yawar Aziz Dar and Sajad Ahmad Parray (both residents of Larmoh), and Abid Majeed Sheikh and Showkat Ahmad Dar from Dadsara.
Information disclosed by them led to the seizure of concealed arms and ammunition, the spokesperson said.
An AK-56 rifle along with a magazine and 28 rounds, and a hand grenade were found, the spokesman said.
He said a case has been registered and further investigation is in progress.
