JAMMU: Punitive strikes by the Indian army have forced Pak troops to do course correction to ensure their own safety.
During fresh escalation along the Line of Control, Pak army fired maximum number of 120 mm mortars in order to target the civilian pockets close the Line of Control in Pallanwala on Monday.
After exhausting their limit, the Pakistani troops resorted to 82 mm mortars and automatics to target the forward posts.
By resorting to this change of tactics on ground zero, Pak army was able to trigger large scale displacement of border residents. The local residents faced the maximum brunt of intense Pakistan shelling in the area and ran towards safety to spend long wintry night.
On Monday evening at least 20 villages in Pallanwala sector were relocated to safer places.
On Tuesday Pak army lobbed shells for more than 4 hours to cause maximum damage.
According to Deputy Commissioner Jammu Simrandeep Singh over 1,600 people were still camping in different make shift shelter points in the area. According to official sources, rattled by the strong Indian retaliation Pak army was forced to relocate their guns to safer locations behind front lines and now using them from a safe distance to target the civilian areas.
Sources maintained by doing so the Pakistani army troops are trying to protect their strategic assets from getting destroyed by Indian army.
