JAMMU: The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), University of Jammu, in collaboration with various Departments, Centers, and Schools of University of Jammu, successfully organized a series of interactive sessions, reaching over 1000 students.
These sessions, which began on August 12, 2024, and concluded on October 07, 2024, broke through departmental boundaries, engaging a diverse range of students.
As outlined by the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell, the role of IICs is to involve a large number of students and faculty in innovation-related activities, with the goal of promoting the creation of incubators, start-ups, and entrepreneurship units in colleges and universities nationwide.
In line with this vision, the IIC at the University of Jammu initiated this effort to introduce both new and returning students to the council’s mandate.
The primary objective was to encourage students to share their innovative ideas, especially those addressing societal challenges, and to harness their creative potential.
The initiative proved successful, as students engaged openly with IIC members, offering novel ideas, and the council assured them of full support in turning their ideas into reality.
These sessions were led by active IIC members at the University of Jammu, including Prof Veenu Kaul and Prof Parmil Kumar, Dr. Sunil Kumar, Dr. Pramod Kumar Singh, Dr. Rakesh Kumar Attri, Dr. Ripu Dhaman Parihar, Dr. Romica Verma, and Dr. Sajan Thakur, along with Syed Azhar.
The events were made possible through the dedicated support of the Heads and Directors of the various Departments, Centers, and Schools involved.
