*To embarrass BJP, AAP jumps into the protest

JAMMU: The students of National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar have now decided to shift the battleground of their ongoing struggle to the national capital in Delhi in support of their pending demands.
Hundreds of students who had vacated their hostel rooms reached Jammu late Monday evening and regrouped this morning near Bibi Chand Kour Gurdwara in the old city to carry out a protest rally.
Holding placards and tricolour in their hands the students demanded fresh appointment of outstation faculty members, ouster of sitting Director and better teaching aids.
The charter of demands also included strict action against the police officers who beat them mercilessly inside the campus.
A group of NIT students hailing from different North Indian States on Tuesday claimed students’ representatives would be meeting in New Delhi to plead their case before the Union HRD Minister Smriti Irani.
The students claimed , “We kept waiting for the Union Minister in the NIT campus and now we are going to meet her soon to address our genuine grievances”.
To support group of NIT students, a cabinet colleague of Arvind Kejriwal, Kapil Mishra also landed in Jammu to join protest march with the students. The students who wanted to address a formal press conference could not do it after some unidentified miscreants forced them to move out of the venue of the press briefing to avoid any chaotic situation.
To expose the role of the BJP in the NIT fiasco AAP MLA tweeted throughout the day showcasing pictures of their protest march.
Mishra is contemplating to lead the protests of NIT students even in New Delhi. Dropping clear hints he tweeted NIT students moving to New Delhi, next course of action to be decided there.
In Srinagar, the faculty members claimed the outstation students have packed all their items and shifted with bag and baggage leaving behind beddings and other material of daily use.
