GHAZIPUR: Observing that the developmental journey of the country in the past 9 years have infused a new perseverance in all sectors and given us enviable strength and self-confidence, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday said, “Our economy stands tall among top economies and our standing has risen following successful G20 Presidency and New Delhi Leaders’ Declaration”.
“India is not only emerging as a world leader, but is also ensuring that the countries of the Global South and the Global North achieve the goal of inclusive development and tackle the challenges of climate change through mutual cooperation”, Sinha said while addressing a seminar organized by Utthan Foundation Trust at Ghazipur to commemorate birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya.
Paying tributes to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, the Lt Governor said the Mantra of Integral Humanism given by the great visionary leader is guiding the socio-economic, cultural and spiritual growth of society marching towards self-reliant and Viksit Bharat.
Comprehensive approach from seed to market empowered farmers: LG
GHAZIPUR: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday said the comprehensive approach from seed to market and the efforts to strengthen the rural economy have led to the empowerment of farmers at every step.
Highest-ever food grain production, significant rise in income and entrepreneurship is scripting a new chapter in history of agriculture sector,” the Lt Governor said while addressing a seminar on great social reformer Swami Sahajanand organized by Swami Sahajanand Postgraduate College in collaboration with ICSSR at Ghazipur.
He said the progressive reforms under the guidance of Prime Minister have empowered the farmers and brought prosperity in their lives. Rs. 20 Lakh Cr has been allocated for agriculture credit to farmers and it shows that the government’s top priority is to unlock the growth potential of the agriculture and allied sector, he added.
The Lt Governor also shared the agricultural reforms and farmer-centric policies introduced in the UT of J&K over the past few years.
He also called for adopting sustainable development measures to effectively tackle the threat of Climate change.
The Lt Governor highlighted the significant contribution of Swami Sahajanand to farmer’s movement and his role in empowering small and marginal farming community, transformation and rejuvenation of agriculture sector to fulfill the development ambitions of a large section of society.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi is implementing the vision of Swami Sahajanand and has given the agriculture and allied activities new impetus. Agriculture budget has gone up by 5.7 fold as compared to 2013-14, credit flow to farmers stepped up and Rs.1 Lakh Crore allocated to Agriculture Infrastructure Fund,” the Lt Governor said.
Prof. (Dr.) V K Rai, Principal Swami Sahajanand PG College; Dr Neerja Madhav, renowned author; Prof Udayon Misra, Principal LBS PG College Mughalsarai; Prof Chandrakanta Rai and prominent personalities from all walks of life were present.
“New ideas and new resolutions create the foundation for a developed society. Resolve is the real power and collective strength of a society and today we stand at the threshold of a new era with rising aspirations and united in resolve to make 21st century, India’s century,” the Lt Governor said.
At the commemoration event, the Lt Governor shared the efforts made by the government under the leadership of Prime Minister for inclusive development.
On the occasion, the Lt Governor honoured the veteran members of Jan Sangh and also felicitated the children from tribal community, supported by the Utthan Foundation Trust, who had excelled in various sports disciplines.
