Orientation course for vocational teachers organised

JAMMU: A four-day long orientation programme on developing vocational teaching skills was launched under Rashtriya Madhyamik Siksha Abhiyaan (RMSA) here on Monday.
The Orientation programme, developed in tune with the National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF) has been organised for newly recruited Vocational Trainers of Jammu. While interacting with participants, State Project Director, RMSA Saugat Biswas shared ideas for maximising their resources and overcoming many geographical and logistic difficulties that they may encounter in their positions. Biswas informed that under this newly launched scheme, specialised vocational teachers have been recruited in all the 132 schools offering vocational education in the State.
He further said the vocational courses are now available in the domains of IT/ITes, Healthcare, Retail and Travel/Tourism and the first batch of vocational course which starts in Class IX will impart skill training to over 6,000 students of the State and make them employment ready by the time they pass out from twelfth standard.
State Coordinator, Vocational Education, RMSA, Shadilal Tengloo, informed that RMSA has recently launched online-MIS to monitor the implementation of the scheme in which real time data can be added to the software by the trainers as well as the principals of the schools and can be regularly supervised by various levels of administration.
