Oriental Academy team brings laurels to State

JAMMU: The Cricket Team of Oriental Academy has brought laurels to the State of Jammu and Kashmir by winning a final match of the cricket Tournament held in Maharashtra under National School Games (2015-16) . In these games, Oriental Academy represented J and K and won the final match played against Nagpur team at Circus Ground , Gondia ( Maharashtra ) by 10 runs on 15th May . Vinayak Sharma was the Captain of the team and other members of the team were Rakshit Didwal, Shuban, Raghav Bali, Mayank Abrol , Rohit Bhadwal , Asif Hussain , Ahsan , Pragun Khajuria, Abhay Sharma , Sushant Thakur , Dikshant Mehra .The Captain of the team Vinayak Sharma was awarded as Man of the Match and Series Award where as Raghav Bali was awarded the Best Sixes Award and Vinayak Sharma and Rakshit Didwal won the Best Players Award . Shuban was awarded the Best Fielder Award . Vinayak Sharma and Rakshit Didwal were also selected for playing with Sri Lankan Academy (SLA).
The team was sent by SSCAF Jammu. Pertinent to mention here that the cricket team of Oriental Academy was comprising of the students of 11th and 12th classes and participated in first National School Games 2015-16 organised by School Sports and Cultural Activities Federation , Vidharbha.
The highlight of the event was that the team was given a cash prize of Rs. 21,000 and a trophy by the Chief Guest of the tournament.
