JAMMU: JK Public School, Kunjwani, had the honour of hosting Brigadier (Retd) Sukhdev Singh for an impactful session on Operation Sindoor – India’s swift and strategic retaliation against a heinous terror attack in Pahalgam. Held at the Nelsum Millennium Hall, the session aimed to sensitize the students and staff to the harsh realities of terrorism and the resolute measures taken by India’s defence forces.

Brigadier (Retd) Sukhdev Singh delivering talk on Operation Sindoor – India’s swift and strategic retaliation against a heinous terror attack in Pahalgam at JK Public School Kunjwani.

The event commenced with a warm welcome address by Principal JKPS Kunjwani Rajesh Rathore, who introduced the distinguished guest. He presented a brief yet illustrious profile of Brig. Singh, highlighting his remarkable 44-year-long service in the Indian Army, including his tenure as the Brigade Commander of the 26 Artillery Brigade. Post-retirement, Brig. Singh served as the Director of JK Educational Society for eight years, during which he steered the institution towards remarkable milestones and unparalleled glory.
The dignitaries gracing the occasion included Shashi Chaudhary, Director, JK Educational Society; Roopinder Kaur, Vice Principal; Inderjeet Kaur, School Coordinator; Anju Raj, Preparatory Wing Coordinator; and Shivangni Pandotra, Toddlers’ World Coordinator, along with faculty members of JKPS.
Brigadier Singh delivered a gripping account of Pakistan’s continued sponsorship of terrorism across the borders, recounting the Pulwama, Uri, and the recent Pahalgam attacks. Describing the April 22, 2025, Pahalgam incident, he revealed chilling details of how 26 innocent lives were lost in a brutal, religion-based massacre by Pakistan-backed militants. He described Operation Sindoor as a powerful and necessary “celebration of justice,” highlighting India’s tactical and restrained response aimed at precise, non-escalatory strikes.
He elaborated on India’s firm diplomatic measures – including the revocation of visas for Pakistani nationals, closure of the Attari-Wagah border, and suspension of the Indus Water Treaty – while underlining the role of intelligence and local support in such attacks. Through compelling visuals and firsthand narratives, Brig. Singh showcased targeted airstrikes and applauded the Indian Armed Forces for their professionalism and resolve during crisis.
Urging the educated citizens to verify facts before forming opinions, he stated with a cautionary reflection on the far-reaching consequences of war and a call for national unity: “Everything we have is an opinion, not a fact. Everything we see is a perspective, not the truth.”
The session concluded with a collective expression of deep admiration for the valiant Indian Armed Forces, whose unwavering courage, unmatched discipline, and strategic brilliance safeguard the nation’s sovereignty. Brig. Singh also shed light on India’s growing military prowess – including the deployment of advanced technological warfare, a robust air defence system, and indigenous marvels like the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile and the Akash-Teer air defence interceptor. These cutting-edge innovations not only serve as a deterrent to hostile forces but also reinforce India’s position as a formidable force committed to peace, preparedness, and national pride.
The session left a profound impact on the audience, deepening their awareness of national security and instilling pride in the courage and clarity of India’s armed forces. An elaborate vote of thanks was proposed by Tina Narula, followed by a soulful singing of the National anthem.
