“Oorja” CAPF U-19 Football Talent hunt Tournament;J&K boys draw against Assam, eves suffer 8-0 defeat

JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir boys played draw against Assam in the ongoing “Oorja” CAPF under-19 Football Talent Hunt Tournament (boys and girls), organised by Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), Jammu Sector in collaboration with University of Jammu, here at University Ground on Wednesday.
It is pertinent to mention here that J&K boys team won its first match against Himachal Pradesh by 2-0. In the second match played today, J&K and Assam failed to score goals in the prescribed time.
In the girls section, J&K suffered a second consecutive defeat in the tournament.
After loosing first match against Himachal Pradesh, J&K girls lost its second match too against Sikkim by 8-0. For Sikkim, Sapna Subba and Krishna Ray scored three goals each while Sigrainia Thapa scored two goals.
Another match in boys section played between Sikkim and Uttar Pradesh ended in a draw. Sikkim managed to score the first goal which was hit by Manos Rai, but was equalled on a self goal by Saroj Rai of Sikkim thus helped Uttar Pradesh to level the score.
In the girls section, Telengana outplayed Uttar Pradesh by 2-0. Somya FM managed to score two goals for Telengana in 42nd and 51st minute.
Deputy Inspector General, SHQ SSB Jammu, Manvendra, Commandant 66 Bn SSB Jammu, Ajay Kumar, SSP (PCR) Ravinder Pal Singh, Second-In-Command Vijay Singh Jamwal, Deputy Commandant, Barjeet Singh, Deputy Commandant Sanjeev Kumar, Deputy Commandant Jeet Lal, Deputy Commandant Kasturi Lal, AC (MO), Dr Rajat Sehgal, AC (MO), Dr Mrinalini Singh, Rakesh Kumar, Dheraj Mini, Vijay Kumar and Moon Stephen were present in today’s matches.
