JAMMU: According to a statement from IG, Traffic, in order to overcome slip and jamming, and in order to ensure safety/security of the passengers/other road users and to ensure smooth flow of traffic, strict one way traffic (for all types of vehicles) shall be observed on Drass-Sonamarg road, on alternate days from 13th November, 2014 till further orders.
All vehicles shall be allowed to ply from Drass side (towards Sonamarg) in a regulated manner on 13th November, 2014. Similarly, on the following day (i.e. 14th November, 2014) vehicles shall be allowed to ply from Sonamarg side (towards Drass) in a regulated manner.
However, as per the statement, the movement of vehicles from Drass side (towards Sonamarg), shall be allowed strictly between 9:00 AM and 12:00 Noon only, on alternate days, and no vehicle whatsoever shall be allowed to cross the said location before and after the above said timings.
Similarly, the movement of traffic from Sonamarg (towards Drass) shall be allowed strictly between 9:00 AM and 12:00 Noon only, on alternate days and no vehicle whatsoever shall be allowed to cross the said location before and after the above said timings.
