JAMMU: In continuation to drive against drugs launched by SSP Jammu Dr. Sunil Gupta, under operation Sanjeevani, police on Thursday arrested a drug peddler and recovered banned drugs from the car he was driving.
As per the details, a joint Naka was laid by SOG and Gandhi Nagar Police at Nai Basti Gandhi Nagar Jammu. During checking, police signaled a car (JK02AP-1157) but sensing trouble driver tried to escape from the Naka and was subsequently caught after chasing. On questioning, he disclosed his name as Ajay Kumar Gupta alias Titu son of Hem Raj Gupta resident of H No. 756 Subash Nagar, Jammu and on checking 85 bottles of Phensi Dyl and 10 bottles of Corex were recovered from the car.
The consignment was recovered by a joint team of component Jammu assisted by SI Madan Lal of Police Station Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
