JAMMU: One person was arrested today from Jammu city for allegedly possessing 20 grams of heroin, police said.
During a routine drive, a police team of Police Station Gandhi Nagar stopped a car bearing registration No. JK08B-3738 at Khalsa Chowk, Nanak Nagar and during checking, 20 grams of heroin was recovered from the driver of the vehicle, a police officer said.
The accused has been identified as Ranjit Choudhary, son of Jasbir Choudhary, resident of Model Town, Gangyal, he said.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 268/2016 under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar, Jammu and investigation entrusted to SI MadanLal of Police Station Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.The consignment was recovered by a team headed by Inspector Bishnesh Kumar, SHO Police Station Gandhi Nagar assisted by SI Tariq Ahmed under the close supervision of Sachin Gupta, DySP SDPO City South, Shazaad Salaria SP City South.
