DODA/UDHAMPUR: One person was killed while 17 others got injured on Sunday in three separate road mishaps in Doda and Udhampur Districts.
Twelve persons got injured when a Tempo Traveller in which they were travelling turned turtle on the road at Wanipura Morh near Assar on Doda – Batote National Highway.
According to sources, the driver of a Tempo Traveller bearing registration number JK02AN-1149 was on its way from Doda to Jammu lost control on the vehicle while negotiating a curve near Wanipura Morh near Assar and it turned turtle resulting in 12 persons getting injured.
Police and locals rushed to the spot and shifted all injured to PHC Assar who were identified as Bashir Ahmed son of Mohd Akbar resident of Tandla Gandoh, Mohd Amin son of Ghulam Mohd resident of Jakyass , Nazir Ahmed son of Lal Rather, Abdul Ashi son of Alyass Sheikh and Mohd Yaseen son of Bashir Ahmed resident of Gandoh , Imtaiz Ahmed son of Atta Mohd resident of Jakyass, Bilal Ahmed son of Anaytullah resident of Tandla, Tasleem Arif son of Abdul Rashid resident of Tandla, Khalid son Irshad Hussain resident of Tandla , Sajad Hussain son of Ghulam Hussain resident of Tandla , Tariq Hussain son of Dost Mohd resident of Gudli, Gandoh and Mohd Ishaq son of Abdul Rasheed resident of Tandla,Gandoh.
Meanwhile, five persons got injuries in collision between Swift Car and a load carrier at Karara 10 Km from Doda on Kishtwar-Doda NHW.
According to local residents, A Car (JK02BB-2410) on its way to Doda from Kishtwar collided with a load carrier (Jk06-3602) its way to Kishtwar from Jammu collided with each other at Karara resulting in injuries to five persons.
Local people informed police which rescued all injured persons from the ill fated vehicles and shifted them to District Hospital Doda for treatment.
The injured have been identified as Shahid Khan son of Din Mohd resident of Kishtwar, Daleep Kumar son of Kunj Lal resident of Pochhal Kishtwar, Sunita Shaan daughter of Vinod Kumar resident of Bagana Kishtwar, Hena Kotwal daughter of Rishi Kumar resident of Malipaith Kishtwar and Nashi Kant son of Subhash Chander resident of Pochaal Kishtwar.Police has registered a case in this regard.
Meanwhile, a Tata Mobile (JK14B-9056) on way to Barmeen from Udhampur on reaching Barmeen Ghordi fell into deep gorge. In accident driver of the vehicle died on the spot and was identified as Gopal Krishan son of Kartar Chand resident of village Hansu. Police shifted him to PHC Barmeen where referred him further to District Hospital Udhampur where doctors declared brought dead. Police has registered a case and launched the investigation.
