Omar apprises Guv of flood damage, relief operations
SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday called on Governor N.N Vohra and briefed him about the damage caused by the floods in the State and the status of the ongoing relief operations.
“In an hour-long meeting, the Chief Minister briefed the Governor about the damage and destruction caused by the colossal floods in the state and the ongoing status of the relief, rescue, repair and restoration operations,” a spokesman said after the meeting.
The Chief Minister and the Governor also discussed medium and long-term steps required for preventing such calamities in the future, the spokesman said.
Vohra and Omar also talked about works being done for dewatering, restoration of healthcare and sanitary conditions, road and telecommunication network and provision of basic necessities in the flood-ravaged areas of the state, he added.
