NZ Cricket Tourney of Indian Audit & Accounts Department AG J&K loses by 60 runs to pack

JAMMU: The star-studded side of Accountant General (AG) J and K on Thursday suffered a 60 runs defeat in the second round to pack in the NZ Cricket Tourney of Indian Audit and Accounts Department, organised by Principal Accountant General (Audit), Punjab at DAV School Ground, Chandigarh.
The AG J and K beaten by AG Haryana in their second outing after the side registered an easy win against AG UP yesterday.
In fact, likewise yesterday’s game, J and K batting line collapsed after openers, Vimarsh Kaw and Sahil Bhalwal made a confident start. The middle order and the tale-enders flopped thereby left the side struggling.
Earlier, batting first, AG Haryana set a target of 204 runs for eight wickets in allotted 40 overs. Opener Preet Kamal and Anupam were main contributors to the total with 30 runs each while Gurinder Singh made highest 40 runs. For AG J and K, Waseem Raza and Rahil Singh shared three wickets each.
In reply, AG J and K exhausted their quota of overs for 144 runs for nine wickets. Vikarsh Kaw (42 off 67 balls) and Sahil (36 off 45 balls) put in great start to make 80 runs in 17.5 overs, but loss of their wickets on successive deliveries brought the side under pressure and the AG J and K innings ended at 144 runs for nine in given 40 overs game.
Ashwani Gupta made 20-ball 14 while Amit contributed 23-ball seven runs to the total. Aditya Pratap (0), Bandeep Singh (11 off 12 balls), Waseem Raza (nine off 14 balls), Omar Alam (10 off 16 balls) and Mudasir (seven off 10 balls) were other scorers. Rahil and Mehrazuddin remained unbeaten without opening their account after facing 18 and 15 balls respectively.
