KATHUA: In continuation of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK), Kathua celebrated 15th October 2014 as Global Hand Washing Day at G.S. Public School, Khanyara (Hatli). On the occasion a symposium was organised to educate and aware rural masses about the maintenance of hygiene at home. About 85 female, students participated in the programme.
Kartar Verma, Community Health Officer delivered lecture on personal hygiene and adoption of hygienic habits and practices in day to day life and home and also made aware the benefits of hand washing and hygienic habits which help in preventing diseases.
Sunita and Asha Devi, ASHA Workers of the areas also delivered lectures and educated women and children about the benefits of hand washing and cleanliness.
Rajni Devi, Pooja Devi, Balwan Singh, National Youth Corps volunteers also participated in the symposium.
