‘Nukad Natak’ organised by MV International School

JAMMU: Anti Tobacco Day was celebrated by MV International School on Saturday. A series of events were organised to mark the day under the guidance of Chairman of MVIS, Hira Lal Abrol.
‘Nukad Natak’ with the theme ‘Say no to Tobacco’ was organised by students of class 8th and 11th, at Vijaypur Chowk. The participants presented a theme based short play and a song composed by the teachers of MV International School.
The Students Council and the members of Scouts and Guides interacted with the people and requested them to say no tobacco and lead a healthy and happy life. The programme was organised as a part of social awareness campaign of MVIS, which is aimed to raise social alertness amongst the masses on the core issues.
The students distributed pamphlets which carried the information about the harmful effects on the usage of tobacco. People of the Vijaypur Chowk market witnessed the event in large numbers and appreciated the school’s concern and the efforts put in by the students, they congratulated the cultural team of MVIS and requested for many more such events. Director and Principal of the School were also present on the occasion and they thanked the citizens and SHO Vijaypur for their support and enthusiasm.
Earlier a special assembly was organized in the school where the students took a ‘No Tobacco Pledge’, an article on ‘Say no to Tobacco’ followed by a colourful cultural programme based on the theme.
