JAMMU: National Students Union of India (NSUI) on Monday organised a day long hunger strike in support of Rohith Vemula.
Hundreds of NSUI activists paid floral tributes to the Rohit and sat on hunger strike in front of Jammu University gate. Those whose sat on day-long hunger strike include Amit Pathania National Secretary incharge Jammu and Kashmir, Fairoz Khan National Secretary, Uday Chib National Secretary, Neeraj Kundan State President, Raqeeq Khan State Vice President, Ajay Kumar National Delegate, Naseeb Aii National Delegate, Karan Singh Manhas District President Kathua and Naseer Hussian MAM College President. Avijoit Singh, Juneed Shah, Chetan Kundal, Arif Choudhary, Naresh Digra, Yaseer Mir, Imran and Showkat were joined the protest.
State President NSUI demanded the resignation of HRD Minister Smriti Irani over the suicide of a scholar who was expelled by the university administration in Hydrabad Central University. He said NSUI will continue its protest and will not stop until justice is met.
