NSS camp concludes at MAM College

JAMMU: A weeklong NSS camp organised by NSS Wing of MAM College concluded here on Thursday.
On the concluding day of the camp, Parshotam Sharma, a social activist was the resource person, who spoke in length about the aims and objectives of NSS and the role of the youth in achieving the objectives of this countrywide students’ organisation. He gave the important tips to the volunteers for the development of personality and volunteerism in their daily life and inspired them with his experience.
Dr. Anita Soodan, Principal of the College was the Chief Guest on the occasion. She distributed mementoes among NSS volunteers for showcasing graded role in different activities during the camp.
Volunteers Ganesh Singh stood first, Aijaz Ahmed second and Parmjeet Bhagat third in symposium while Gulzar Hussain stood first, Mohin Ali Choudhary second and Pankaj Verma and Gaurav Choudhary shared third slot in Poster Making Competition and in race on the theme ‘Run for Unity’, Beer Singh, Pardeep Singh and Aijaz Ahmed Khan bagged first, second and third prizes respectively.
Different titles were also given to the volunteers. The title of the Best Volunteer of the year was given to Jasvir Singh and Best Volunteer of the Camp was given to Ganesh.
Earlier, Dr. M. Mazammal Hussain NSS Programme Officer presented the report of NSS Special Camp. Dr Sangita Soodan presented welcome address, Dr. S.C Sharma presented vote of thanks and Jasvir Singh NSS Volunteer, compered the programme. Others present on the occasion were Dr. Anil Ganju and Prof. I.A Khan.
