JAMMU: New Rainbow Public High School (NRPHS) celebrated Raksha Bandhan festival on Saturday by organising a function in the school premises. The girls of the junior classes tied Rakhis to the boys and distributed sweets on this occasion.
Principal of the School Joginder Kour in her address to the students sensitised them about the importance of Raksha Bandhan festival. She said that the small thread which a sister ties on the wrist of her brother strengthens the bonds between the two. While the sister prays for the long life of her brother, the brother pledges to stand by her through thick and thin and ensure her safety and security, she said.
Meanwhile the girls of senior classes sent Rakhis to RS Pura for soldiers deployed on the border for the security of countrymen and prayed for their long lives as also assured them that the whole country stands by their side.
