JAMMU: National Panthers Students Union (NPSU) on Thursday held a protest against the State Government for its immature behaviour in filling up the vacant posts in the State Information Commission (SIC).
Scores of NPSU activists led by its State President, Thakur Virender Singh assembled in front of main gate of University of Jammu and raised anti-government slogans.
Addressing the media persons, Virender said that State Government is non-serious about filling up the vacant posts in the SIC resulting in paralyzed RTI Act.
“If government does not act immediately on the issue we will head towards the Supreme Court and knock the door for justice and we will soon launch a signature campaign on this issue,” he warned.
Singh urged the likeminded legislatures of J and K Assembly who are in favour of demand of SIC to raise this issue in coming Assembly session. Others present in the protest were Lovely Singh, Rishi Badyal, Chetan, Shubam Chib, Rudar Parap Singh, Aman Deep Singh, Kewal Sharma and Sudesh Badyal.
