STATE TIMES NEWS
NOWSHERA : The residents of Nowshera have resented the irresponsible attitude of water supplying agencies towards wastage of water, damage to road and inconvenience caused to the people as a result of heavy leakage of water from the pipes running through the road between Jhangar Chowk to Raghunath Mandir, Nowshera.
Former President Municipal Committee Subhash Kapoor, Vicky Verma, Manik Kohli and Rajesh Verma said that the leakage which is continuing for the last two months was brought to the notice of the concerned authorities of Public Health Engineering (PHE) Department who said that these pipes belong to Military Engineers Service (MES) while MES disowns these pipes. Neither of these agencies have tried to ascertain the ownership of these pipes after making and the water continues to flow on, they said.
The residents have urged the engineers of PHE and the MES to decide ownership of these leaking pipes so as to stop the loss of drinking water, damage to the road, and inconvenience of the people and above all the supply of contaminated water to the consumers.
They also appealed to the SDM Nowshera to issue suitable instructions to the agencies in view of national slogan of ‘Save water, Save life’.
