North India Powerlifting Championship-2016 Rakesh of J&K bags gold, Haryana women four

JAMMU: Rakesh Kumar of Jammu and Kashmir came up with a total of 442.5 kg and grabbed a gold medal in 53kg weight category while Haryana women had a fruitful closing day at the North India Powerlifting Champi-onship-2016, grabbing five medals, including four gold medals, here on Monday.
For Haryana, Sanju (43kg), Rajkumari (47 kg), Suman Devi (52kg) and Sarita (57 kg) claimed gold medal. Sanju aggregated a total of 265kg, Rajkumari lifted a total of 310 kg while Suman Devi 340 kg and Sarita 475 kg in their respective categories.

WOMEN: 43 kg: Sanju (Haryana) gold and Aruna Bharti (Uttarakhand) silver. 47 kg: Rajkumari (Haryana) gold, Surmeet Kaur (J&K) silver and Diksha Dhiman (Punjab) bronze. 52 kg: Suman Devi (Haryana) gold and Sandeep Kaur (Punjab) silver. 57 kg: Sarita (Haryana) gold, Meena Kumari (Punjab) silver and Hemlata (Punjab) bronze.
MEN: 53 kg: Rakesh Kumar (J&K) gold, Mohammed Javed (Uttarakhand) silver and Kuldeep Kumar (Uttarakhand) bronze. 59 kg: Vijender Kumar (Uttarakhand) gold, Ajeet (Delhi) silver and Ritesh (Haryana) bronze.
