JAMMU: Former Mayor, Rajinder Sharma on Monday attended an important public meeting under the banner of ‘Jan Suraaj’ in Ward number 30 of Jammu West Assembly Constituency where the people raised a lot of issues before Sharma.
The people who were present in the meeting demanded that a good political system that may work for addressing public issues is the need of the hour in Jammu as there are a lot of public problems in every nook and corner of J&K.
It was resolved in the meeting to give a practical shape to a public body under the name of ‘Jan Suraaj’ wherein the body will work with people having good and noble thoughts and will include collective efforts of all for the welfare of all.
The former Mayor while addressing the gathering said that stalwarts like Maharaja Hari Singh gave the slogan of quit Kashmir much before Mahatama Gandhi had started quit India movement.
“There are many other remarkable achievements of Maharaja which also include empowering women and working for the upliftment of tribals and other marginalised sections of the society,” Sharma maintained adding that such a great thinker have ruled J&K.
The senior BJP leader further said that Jammu has produced Chief Justice Supreme Court of India, Chiefs of Indian army and much more including Pandit Prem Nath Dogra who became head of Jan Sangh. “Then how come that people of Jammu are worried for oriented leadership,” Sharma continued adding that public of today want that their leader should be man of integrity, educated and the one who remains sensitive towards the society. In the meeting a lot of thinking was done after which the gathering voiced that only BJP can give such a matured and upright leadership which may address the public grievances effectively.
It was resolved in the meeting that that the BJP worker who will raise certain issues will himself/herself constitute a committee of his area which will note down the problems of that area for giving the same to BJP Mandal President and the Mandal President in turn will attach his cover letter to those and forward it to the former Mayor Rajinder Sharma who will forward the same to Commissioner Secretary or the Secretary of the concerned department for solution.
In this way transparent and accountable delivery system will be framed.
The meeting was held in Ward number 30 of Jammu West Assembly Constituency at Talab Tillo area.
Those present in the meeting said till the use of money in elections is not stopped, corruption cannot be eradicated from the society and we have to work for this particular noble cause. In a new no tea or snacks were served in the meeting but only pure water was served to those who were present there. It was a small meeting with limited number of people under name Jan Suraaj while theme of the meeting was ‘Sahi Loog, Sahi Soch aur Samuhik Prayas’.
Kapil Chib, former JMC Councillor; BJP Mandal President Keshav Chopra; Vicky Kumar, Beena Mahajan, BJP contestant and prominent citizens of the area attended the meeting.
