JAMMU: President, National Mazdoor Conference (NMC), Subash Shastri on Wednesday described the decision of Union Cabinet to accept the modified Seventh Pay Commission recommendations for implementation as historical one.
Shastri extended thanks to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for speedy implementation of pay commission.
Commenting on the decision, Shastri appreciated Prime Minister concern and attitude towards salaried class. “Now the Seventh Pay Commission has been accepted and implemented in respect of Central Government employees and pensioners, Prime Minister should convene a meeting of all Chief Ministers for implementing these recommendations in their respective states,” Shastri urged.
Since many states especially J&K are going through dire financial crunch, he urged Prime Minister to make special provision so as to ward off any imbalance created on account of commission fallout.
“The State immediately needs at least Rs 9,000 crores for implementation of Seventh Pay Commission recommendations and only Modi has the guts to settle this burning problems,” Shastri further said.
