POONCH/MENDHAR: Nine-year-old girl died while 17 others were injured in a two road accidents in Mandi and Mendhar areas of district Poonch on Wednesday.
According to police, a nine year old girl, Amina died in a road accident while nine other receive injuries in a road accident.
“A Tata Sumo under number JK12 2820 was on way to Mandi from Loran. The driver lost control and vehicle plunged into the river gorge near Mandi Mandir,” police officer said.
He said that in the accident, the deceased’s father, mother and sister were seriously injured.
The injured persons were shifted to hospital for treatment where the condition of two among the injured persons according to hospital authorities is serious.
Meanwhile, police has registered a case vide FIR No 44/2016 in this regard.
Meanwhile, eight persons were got injured when a Tata Sumo (JK22-7655) turned turtle near Kota area of Mendhar Tehsil. The injured were identified as Mohammad Anjir, Nusrat Bi, Gafur Mohammad, Muazzfar Ahmed, Tanvir Sadik, Mohammad Zabir, Sajid Ahmed and Mohammad Jabar. All were shifted to Sub- District Hospital Mendhar from where one was referred to GMC Hopital on being critical.
