“Bhagwan Shiva is one of the Gods of Hindu Trinity apart from Bhagwan Vishnu and Bhagwan Brahma. He is also known as Mahadev means the Supreme Lord. It is believed that Bhagwan Shiv can be pleased most easily if a person offers his prayers with full faith and dedication. Hence, listening to Shiv Mahapuran blesses the devotees by providing them all round protection from all kinds of negative energies, removing the negative effects of bad karmas and infusing a feeling of positive energy, courage, intelligence, mental peace, health, wealth and happiness,” Pt Dr Ved Prakash Shastri said and added, “if a person worships Bhagwan Shiv as prescribed in the Shiv Mahapuran or even if he recites or gets a recitation of Shiv Mahapuran done on his behalf, then he is blessed by Bhagwan Shiv thereby attaining Moksh after leading a most satisfactory life in this world.”
“Soul is a subtle part of God. The soul is eternal and immortal. The soul neither takes birth nor dies, no one can kill the soul, Only the body dies,” he said.
He said one who is born, his death is certain and after death, birth is also certain. Certainly, until salvation is attained. Just as a person changes his clothes when they are worn out, in the same way the soul also changes its body when it becomes old and dilapidated. Therefore death of the body happens, not of the soul. Just as the temple of God is the temple of the soul, the body is also the temple of the soul. The body should be respected and maintained in good condition as it serves as a vehicle for spiritual growth and experience, Pt Dr Ved Prakash Shastri said.
“Through meditation and Yog you can realize your soul and conscience. Practicing meditation and by doing Yog you will find yourself very close to God and can realize God. Your thoughts should always be kept pure. With purity of thoughts, your body and mind can always remain pure and beautiful. If you want to please God, then it is necessary to please the soul. The soul is always happy with good deeds and the soul of the person who does misdeeds will always remain sad. The mind of a corrupt, wicked and sinful person never remains calm and always remains disturbed,” Pt Dr Ved Prakash Shastri said adding that Knowledge and wisdom are obtained by remembering God and devotion to God.
