NHM employees to go on 72-hr strike from today

JAMMU: National Health Mission (NHM) employees decided to go on 72 hours pen down strike from 7th March onwards to press the government to fulfill their long pending demand of regularisation.
“We are going to hold pen down strike from tomorrow against the government for not redressing their demand of regularisation and against the police Lathicharge on NHM employees at Srinagar,” JK NHM Jammu Division President Rohit Seth told reporters, here on Monday.
“over 11,000 employees are working for the last 10 years without any job security and over 400 employees have crossed their age limits and over 100 employees died since last 10 years during service due to stress,” he said.
He added that they have raised several the time their demands and grievances before different government officials even Chief Minister and Health Minister but unfortunately not a single step has been taken till date to mitigate the same.
They demanded regularisation of employees who completed five years service, provision of equal pay for equal work, transfer policy for employees who are working out of home station for the last ten years, job security, health insurance/risk allowances and maternity leave for six month with salary.
