NGO members engaged in flood relief meet Governor
SRINAGAR: A delegation of Kashmir Operations of “Sarhad Puna”, a non-governmental organization led by Dr. Nazir Ahmed Khan, Chief Coordinator, called on Governor, N.N Vohra, here on Monday. The other members of the delegation included Dr Zakir Geelani and Rohullah Mirza.
The delegation apprised the Governor about the relief work done by their organisation in the past month, collaboration with the New City Hospital, Srinagar. Besides providing free medicines and health care services through a number of medical camps set up by them in Bandipora, Pulwama, Srinagar, Budgam, Anantnag, these young doctors are presently carrying out door-to-door immunization against measles and tetanus of the flood affected people in different parts of the Valley.
The Governor lauded the work being done by this motivated group of young doctors and highly appreciated the commitment with which they were working to alleviate the sufferings of the flood victims. He wished them high success in their ongoing endeavour and future careers.
