New York Diary : New York crazy about Yoga & personal participation of PM Modi

New York: As the United Nations Headquarters, overlooking the Hudson river turned into a yoga arena with more than 2000 people representing around 135 nationalities joining Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 9th International Day of Yoga, it turned into a mega event in New York.
Hundreds of people performed Yoga at Times Square and other areas of the city. The Young Bites Team tracked the celebrations and talked to several people. Here are the excerpts of the interaction with the participants.
Rajni Sharma who originally hails from Chandigarh said, “Prime Minister Narendra Modi was in New York. I am a big fan of Modi ji and am quite proud about the respect being given to Indians. We specially came here to participate in Yoga day celebrations. Since Modi became Prime Minister of India Americans have had a positive attitude towards the country. With this visit, the relations between India and USA will be further strengthened which will help both the countries.
A resident of Andhra Pradesh now living in United States expressed his happiness about Yoga being performed at the United Nations.
“India is on cusp of becoming a ‘Vishva Guru’ under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Modi is a real yogi and under his leadership, India has achieved much on the development and economic front”. He said that the world is recognizing the talent of Indian people and respect is growing around the world.
Neeti from New York said, “We felt inspired and quite excited to participate with PM Narendra Modi during the Yoga day celebrations. Yoga craze is increasing and it’s all due to the contribution made by Modi ji. Yoga, the ancient tradition of India is being accepted in the west and the admirers are growing. For the first time Indian diaspora in large numbers participated in the event to make it a success.
