JAMMU: The new session at The Business School (TBS) started on Wednesday with a corporate interaction for the MBA students.
Rakesh Shalla, COO Vodafone, delivered the lecture on BrandM with the objective of kindling thinking abilities among the students. Shalla, who has had the experience of working with big corporate houses, including Amul, Airtel and Vodafone, emphasised that sustainable brand building can be done through services. Emphasising the power of branding and brand augmentation, he pointed out that branding is most important in the service industry and that the fundamental principle for the success of any company is the ability to listen to the customers.
He suggested that consumer complaints must be addressed on priority and a structured analysis of customer feedback should eventually translate into specific company strategies. He also pointed out that a successful brand is the one that has speed, simplicity and trust.
In response to questions posed by the students regarding Vodafone strategy against competitors, Shalla responded by saying that Vodafone differentiates itself by giving customers what they deserve, such as Vodafone’s very well known differentiated communication.
Earlier, Prof. B.C Sharma, Director, The Business School, University of Jammu introduced and welcomed the guest speaker and the students and faculty members to the interactive session. Prof. Alka Sharma presented a vote of thanks. The lecture was attended by the faculty and students of MBA at TBS.
