Nehru’s role in Accession of J&K with India is historical: Bhalla

JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress paid rich tributes to the first prime minister Pt Jawahar Lal Nehru and lauded his historical role, far- sightedness and efforts towards the rejection of two nation theory on Jammu & Kashmir leading to the accession of state with India. Several functions at Districts and Block level were held all over J&K. An impressive function was organized by the District congress committee Jammu Urban led by Th. Manmohan Singh at PCC HQ ,which was presided over by JKPCC working President Raman Bhalla and attended by Sr. Vice President & Chief Spokesperson Ravinder Sharma and others. Paying tributes, Raman Bhalla lauded the visionary role played by Pt Nehru in defeating the designs of two nation theory by Jinnah over Kashmir. It was his far- sightedness and his great efforts which ultimately succeeded in lending the popular support in J&K towards its accession with India by Maharaja Hari Singh on 26th Oct, 1947.
Ravinder Sharma lamented those who try to belittle the contributions of Pt. Nehru as leader of freedom struggle and as leader of the nation, who not only shaped the future of India but played the very vital rule in the world politics and was instrumental in the creation of third order in the world in the shape of NAM.
