NEET Scam, UGC-NET Exam cancellation stark reminders of systemic failures plaguing education sector: Gaurav

JAMMU: Gaurav Gupta, former General Secretary of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry , Jammu, has expressed profound anger and frustration over the recent revelations of the NEET scam and the abrupt cancellation of the UGC – NET exam.
In a scathing statement issued here today, Gaurav Gupta condemned the blatant disregard for the future of India’s youth and the gross mismanagement of critical academic processes.
“The NEET scam is an outright betrayal of our nation’s students and their families. This scandal not only undermines the integrity of our education system but also shatters the dreams of countless aspiring doctors who have worked tirelessly to secure their futures. It is appalling to witness such corruption and manipulation at the highest levels, where merit is sidelined for deceit and dishonesty,” he said.
Gaurav described the cancellation of the UGC – NET exam as a “colossal failure” on the part of the authorities. “The sudden cancellation of the UGC- NET exam is nothing short of a disaster. It reflects gross incompetence and a lack of foresight by those in charge. This decision has left thousands of students in limbo, causing unnecessary stress and anxiety. The authorities must be held accountable for this egregious lapse.”
He further added, “The youth of this country deserve transparency, fairness, and stability in their educational pursuits. These incidents have severely dented the trust in our educational institutions and governing bodies. Immediate and stringent action must be taken against those responsible to restore faith in our system.”
Gaurav Gupta sought intervention of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to this significant issue for an urgent overhaul of the examination and admission processes to ensure such debacles do not recur. He demands that the government take decisive steps to safeguard the interests of students and uphold the sanctity of the educational system.
Gaurav sought action against the agency involved in conducting the NEET examination across the country by blacklisting it. “This serious issue is against the country’s dream of Viksit Bharat,” he stated, emphasizing the need for accountability and reform. “The NEET scam and the UGC – NET exam cancellation are stark reminders of the systemic failures that plague our education sector. It is high time for a thorough and uncompromising reform. Our students’ future should never be gambled with; they are the backbone of our nation’s progress and development,” he concluded.
