NDS organises Patriotic Group Song Competition

JAMMU: Speaker, Legislative Assembly and MLA Gandhi Nagar, Kavinder Gupta on Saturday inaugurated a Patr-iotic Group Song Competition organised by Nami Dogri Sanstha (NDS) at Abhinav Theatre, here.
Advocate, Sandeep Gupta was the Guest of Honour while former Advocate General, J and K, D.C Raina and Brig. O.P Abrol (Retd.) presided over the function. Advocate Nidhi Kaila and Advocate Dogra Harish Kaila also shared the Dias.
Students from Anuradha Higher Seconadry School Barnai, Aglo Kids School Janipur, Spring Dale Higher Secondary School, Sarvodya Public School-Santra Mode Anand Nagar Jammu and SNS Vidya Mandir Talab Tillo participated in the competition which was judged by Prof. Romila Gularia, HoD Music, Prof. Anupama Sharma and Dr. Ashutosh Magotra.
Sarvodya Public School got the first prize, Spring Dale Higher Secondary School got the second prize and Anur-adha Higher Secondary Sch-ool won the third prize.
Kavinder Gupta said that our youth can do wonders if their energies are channelised in right direction and it is our earnest duty to watch their interests and groom them properly. Imbining the moral and patriotic values in our youth will not only make them selfless citizens but they will always keep the interest of the society and the country as supreme, he added.
Brig. Abrol emphasised upon imbibing patriotism among the youth and new generations so that they become responsible citizens and take pride in our rich heritage and nationalist values. D. C Raina, while expressing his views on ‘Kathak’ performances, he said that teacher and pupil is a holy relationship and teacher has key role in sharpening an artist. He said that the patriotism unifies and strengthens the society and shatters the selfish tendencies. He said there is need to involve more and more youth in the patriotic endeavours.
Capt. Lalit Sharma in his opening address said that the music is very useful tool in coordination of mind and body and imbibed positive outlook especially in the children.
