JAMMU: Brigadier Rajan Jamwal, Group Commander, NCC Group Headquarters, Jammu, on Sunday flagged off a half Marathon for 5 Km from Balidan Stambh, here.
A total of 170 NCC cadets which includes 65 girl cadets from all the colleges of Jammu participated in it.
The half marathon covered Dogra Chowk, Ambedkar Chowk, Balmiki Chowk, Khalsa Chowk, Green Belt Park and terminated at Green Fields Ground.
Brigadier Jamwal distributed prizes to the winners.
Cadet Nilza from Government Women College, Gandhi Nagar and Cadet Juhi Charak from Government Women College, Parade were declared first and second respectively in Senior Women category whereas Cadet Md Nadeem and Cadet Doorjai both from MAM College were declared first and second respectively in Senior Division category.
“The Traffic Police and Health Department assisted NCC in an effective manner in the conduct of the half marathon,” Defence Spokesperson, Lt Col Manish Mehta said.
