NC set to emerge as force to reckon with: Tsestan Namgyal

LEH: Exuding confidence that National Conference will emerge as a force to reckon with at the strength of its inclusiveness, senior leader and former Minister, Tsetan Namgyal on Wednesday said that divisive politics has no place in Jammu and Kashmir.
“National Conference has all along strived for equal opportunities of progress and development to all the three regions of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh and therefore there is need to strengthen the party for meeting challenges to the State”, Namgyal said while welcoming new entrants in the party fold.
The function was presided over by President of the Leh Unit of National Conference Sonam Wangdus Lachumir, who profusely greeted the new entrants from Changthang, Nobra and Leh areas.
Among those present on the occasion included Nazir Ahmed Khan Senior Vice President , Thinless Boto, Ghulam Hyder , Tsing Mutop Vice Presidents, Wangchuk Lardak District Secretary, Nisar Hussain Joint Secretary , Mohd Usman Chonjor cashair and Phunchok Tashi, Mohd Baqir Cho, Skarma Namdok, Tsering Sangdop, Tashi Tundop all National Conference Councilor candidates who contested the 5th LAHDC Election-2015, and a large number of party workers.
Namgyal said National Conference has all along provided a huge space to youth, which is why it is still known as a youth movement that has withstood test of times with fortitude. “Now that the State is at the cross roads of history with self seekers and anti-people elements presiding over its destiny, the youth have to change the discourse”, he maintained.
The former minister described youth as trend setters, adding that they can help in cleansing degenerated political atmosphere by bringing much needed change.
Tsetan Namglal welcomed the new members and urged upon thems to work sincerely and dedicatedly to make further the party strong.
Speaking on the occasion, Sonam Wangdus Lachumir District President expressed hope that the new entrants would work to strengthen the party and carry forward the mission of making Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh vibrant units of the State. He said that J and K National Conference has rendered innumerable sacrifices to protect the unity and integrity of the State.
At the outset, Wangchuk Lardak District Secretary highlighted party’s policies and programmes, saying it has all along upheld the pluralistic and secular ethos of J and K. He also dwelt upon National Conference Leh’s commitment to serve the people of Ladakh for overall development in the region. He said that National Conference Leh’s party unit was put back in place just before the LAHDC Councilor polls after a gap of 12 years and won prestigious Lower- Leh and Turtuk seats.
Those who joined the party include Stanzin Chospel, Tashi Dorjay, Tashi Tundup, Tashi Mutop, Tsetan Namglal and Tashi Wangchok from Thiksay, Mohd Raza Cho, Mohd Issa Lompo, Mohsin Ali, Aijaz and Hassan Mohd from Chuchut, Tsewang Tundop, Dechen Angmo ( Advocate ) and Tsewang Dorje from Skara, Phonchok Namglal and Tsewang Thinless form shey, Phunchok Angdus from Spitok, Yunton Namglal from Panamik, Tsewang Namglal from Matho, Urgian Kharnak, Parvez Ahmad from Leh, Paldan Angchok from Rupsh and Nawang Delek from Samad.
