NC, PDP same in respect of shielding corruption: Vakil
STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Former Minister and senior leader Abdul Gani Vakil on Tuesday in a statement said that present Coalition Government has proved itself as a sister concern of National Conference in respect of shielding and encouraging corruption and both the parties seem to have been in an undeclared and secret pact to protect each other from any action of Law.
He said that if PDP-BJP Government would have been seriously and wholeheartedly against irregularities and corruption it should have not wasted time in ordering a time bound probe in purchase of substandard pipes, 80 per cent non-existent SSA School buildings as well as other infamous embezzlements and scams reported during tenure of previous regime.
Senior leader lambasted current Government for rendering Accountability Commission defunct and dallying the inquiries into allegations of corruption pending against Ministers, Ex-Minister or Legislators etc.
Vakil blamed Successive Governments particularly headed by NC for adopting wrong policies and thereby pushing people into deep trouble and agony. He said that no one can deny this fact that unending corruption, favoritism, nepotism and mounting unemployment are the main reasons responsible for worsening the peaceful atmosphere of the State because these issues were of less importance for previous regimes as same remained unaddressed till date. Commenting on recent sacking of few employees, Senior Leader said that nothing is going to change by such Orders until pending corruption cases of big sharks biting dust since decades in various Anti Graft Agencies or Accountability Commission are taken to logical end.
Former Minister said that every citizen of State is asking a simple question how destiny of a person changes after becoming an MLA, MLC or Minister and how it is possible for such persons to multiply their assets round the clock and builds up of huge moveable and immovable assets in Jammu and Srinagar Cities and other parts of the Country which are disproportionate to known sources of their income despite this fact are protected and left untouched. He said that if the present government is hell bent to curb corruption, it must sincerely concentrate on eradicating corruption at higher level and shun the policy of protecting and shielding political persons for resorting to corrupt practices.
Blaming both NC and PDP for exploiting, befooling and cheating innocent masses of Jammu and Kashmir, Vakil reiterated that both these parties forgot and drifted from their core ideologies either for sake of power or winning some seats. He also appealed every individual to introspect and recall befooling and exploitation at the hands of NC and PDP for cheap political gains and not to become victims of autonomy and self rule politics. He said that the moment NC or PDP gain power they forget and relegate all issues particularly Autonomy or Self Rule for grabbing power.
