JAMMU: National Conference leaders have urged the cadre to get ready for elections to Urban Local Bodies, saying the party alone can satiate the urges and aspirations of the people.
Held under the chairmanship of Provincial Vice President, Mohammed Ayub Malik at Talab Tillo, the meeting exuded confidence that National Conference will make a huge mark in the elections at the strength of remarkable developmental initiatives taken during successive party governments, especially under the Chief Ministership of Omar Abdullah.
Addressing the workers, Malik and Chander Mohan Sharma called for synergised approach in meeting challenges confronted to the State and urged the cadre to reach out to the people, identify their problems and seek their redressal at appropriate levels.
Malik and Sharma also expressed concern over erratic supply of power, drinking water and rations at the sale outlets. They decried the inept implementation of the National Food Security Act and sought its immediate withdrawal as it has deprived huge chunk of population from much needed ration support.
The party workers resolved to hold protest outside the office of Chief Engineer PHE at B C Road on Monday to register protest against scarcity and irregular supply of drinking water in most of the city areas.
Those who attended the meeting, organised by Ankush Abrol Vice President Youth NC Jammu Province included Block President Dhevinder Sharma (Bablu) NYC Jammu, Ashwani Charke, Rashpal Singh, Swarn Singh, Somraj Taroch, Vikram Singh, Manv Chowan and Sajan Babbar.
