NC committed to change politico-economic landscape of JK : Slathia

VIJAYPUR : Saying the development scenario has received special impetus during the last five and half years, former Minister and MLA Vijaypur Surjeet Singh Slathia on Monday reiterated that National Conference is committed to change the politico-economic landscape of Jammu and Kashmir.
While addressing a large gathering at border village Abtal in Vijaypur Constituency, Slathia said that Omar Abdullah led government took the development from day one and the results are quite discernible.
Slathia who is also Sr. Vice President of J and K National Conference said that successive governments led by his party have flagged public interest at top of everything all along and would do so in future as well.
He said faster development and quicker implementation of various welfare schemes and sustaining peace has been priority of the government, which is discernible in every sphere of activity. He listed various initiatives taken for empowering the people and moving administration responsive to their needs.
In this context, he referred to the Public Services Guarantee and Right to Information Acts, saying these have been pioneering and path breaking in the entire country. Right to know has gone a long way in making the government accountable, he maintained.
On the occasion Slathia gave on overview of the developmental activities taken in the Vijaypur Constituency during the past five and half years, saying this initiative will continue in future as well. He sought co-operation of the people in implementing various schemes for the overall good of the area.
